Can you spoil a 2 week old?

My son is 2 weeks old today. Last week he was doing really good laying down awake, he would just quietly lay down looking around. Now when we put him down he starts to cry so I always pick him up because I don't want him to feel scared and alone. Once I pick him up he normally will stop crying right away and just look around. As soon as I put him back down, after making sure he doesn't have a dirty diaper and he's not hungry, he starts screaming again, and we start all over again till he's to tired to keep his eyes open. I've tried laying him in his crib, his swing, his cradle and his car seat..nothing..he just wants to be in my arms. Is this normal? will it subside? He did have jaundice and we had to stay in the hospital for 3 days but I stayed with him the whole time and did all his feedings and changes. Also he's starting to eat A LOT!!! He sucked both of my dry practically and cried until I gave him a 2 oz. bottle. The jaundice did cause him to lose 7 oz. but he has gained it back and a few more oz.'s as well. I don't know if this is the cause for his behavior or if most babies go through this? Thank You for your advice!
