What are these white worms in my hens poo?

I was cleaning out my two hens chicken hutch and everything was fine but, when broke down a hard bottom layer of the poop and hay, I saw little white worms, they didn't look exactly like maggots but I think they may have been baby flys or something because this summer alot of flys would surround the hutch. Also my hens began pecking at them and eating them, is that bad?
